Saturday May 5th

Council of Religious Education Chicken/Pork Dinner

The Council of Religious Education is having its bi-annual Chicken/Pork dinner sale on Saturday, May 5, 2018 in Menard's Parking lot from 11 AM until 6 PM.

The dinner includes chicken or pork, potato chips, roll and butter, applesauce, and dessert. The cost is $8.00.

Lockington Volunteer Fire Department Barbecue Chicken Dinner

The Lockington Volunteer Fire Department will be offering Chicken Dinners at the firehouse (10363 Museum Trail) on Sunday May 20th. Guests may dine in or carry out their meals. For questions or to order ahead, call Chief Jon Adams at (937) 606-0919 (prior to the event), the firehouse at (937) 773-5341 (day of the event only) or follow us on Facebook. Come out and enjoy a delicious meal while supporting your local volunteer fire department!

*Upcoming barbecue chicken dinners will be held on June 17th.

Free Smoke Detectors

The Sidney Department of Fire & Emergency Services reminds residents to check their smoke detectors for readiness to include activation and location.  One more item to ponder; sleep with your bedroom door closed.  A closed door will slow the spread of smoke, heat and flame.  Stop by Fire Station #1 at 222 West Poplar Street to find out if you qualify for a free smoke detector.

Free Smoke Alarms From American Red Cross

Seven times a day, someone dies in a home fire in the United States.  The Northern Miami Valley Ohio Red Cross is offering to install free smoke alarms with 10-year lithium batteries to any home in the region.  Simply call the office in your region to schedule an appointment.  In Sidney call 492.6151, Troy 332.1414, Greenville 548.1002 & Springfield 399.3872 or online at redcross.org/NMVO.
